Nico Fini is the "powerhouse" behind Urban Escargot. Being French by origin, Nico is passionate about food and sets himself high standards in delivering to his clients something that they will not only remember, but also rave about in time to come. Nico has trained and worked in some of the most exclusive restaurants in France (including 3-star Michelin Georges Blanc). Since arriving in New Zealand about 12 years ago, Nico has worked in various restaurants in Christchurch such as the "Pescatore" (Georges Hotel), and more recently as executive chef for French Farm Winery (Akaroa).

Nico established his own catering service under the name of Nico's French Dinner Party Services soon after his arrival here about 10 years ago. This business grew and thrived largely by word-of-mouth and repeat business (which we take as assurance that perhaps Nico was doing something right!). Nico's catering services have featured in various publications such as "Cuisine magazine", "Style Magazine" and "The Press". Nico was also a guest chef on Pita Mathia's "Taste New Zealand" program last series. Nico's catering business has since evolved into Urban Escargot.
